I've enjoyed many of his Youtube offerings too. Might be one of those secrets we never discover. He seems to go pretty far to keep his identity hidden! Wonder if he is someone we would instantly recognize and just doesn't want the extra exposure???Anybody guessing on what guitar he's playing? The Taylor doesn't seem to be super fancy. I'm guessing the one with the rounded pick guard is a Martin OM or OOO maybe? Looks older or at least well worn.
The one without pick guard maybe a Mahogany OM? Sure gets a nice tone out of them.
FONT='Book Antiqua'SIZE='3'COLOR='Navy'Well, speaking ONLY for myself, this whole 'I'm anonymous and wanna be that way but fill YouTube with anonymous videos' is, well, dumb. OK flame away. What's the 'big deal' about letting people know who you are?? Like this is going to cause some cosmic shift in the planets, or bring on the apocalypse? Right. My theory is this fellow, who is VERY talented, enjoys the notoriety of being anonymous; a kinda reverse psychology thing. He gets all the attention he needs by being 'mystery man.' A waste of energy.
Oct 27, 2007 Since he obviously wants to remain anonymous, I wouldn't reveal it even if I knew for sure. (I have suspicions). There is even a vid of some picker who claims to be fretkillr's son and he's sayin' 'Daddy please come home!' Don't know who he is but I've enjoyed his videos for the last couple of years. All I know is that he's from my area (Long Island) but I have no idea who he is.
Does he REALLY think by stating his autobio-stuff it's gonna ruin his life. It is wearisome.
Really.Flaming commenced - you think is is dumb and silly to be anonymous, but you use 'Folkstrum'?' A waste of enerygy.' We are the ones wasting energy talking about it, but it is interesting so why be negative? There is a commercially available CD (Amazon, etc.) with several pages of liner notes.
A few pages in, the artist comments on an idea that was once tossed around about creating a touring persona with the name Fret Killer. This along with a couple of other clues/online suppositions solidify, for me at least, the identity of YouTube's FretKillr. I'm not really interested in engraving it into the permanent record of the wild wooly web.
FK quite obviously wasn't interested in disclosing his identity. If you're THAT obsessed to know, PM me.jay.
