I wanted to chime in and help, but I haven't had a problem yet. I was a little concerned cause I am working on a 17' furniture truck today, and had to get done by this evening. I wouldnt think twice about buying another Summa because of the quality service this one has given me. Usually, it cuts flawlessly and perfectly. I remember your problems todd, but to date, this is the first one I have had. I use vinylmaster pro for cutting, and never had this problem before, but after I dumped the whole file, and set it up again, it whizzed right along and cut it like it always has. You cannot beat Summa support.they were always there and helpful when I needed them.which hasn't been too many times.Īpparently it was the file I was trying to cut that was causing the problem. Posts: 500 | From: Sherman, TX USA | Registered: Mar 2000Īh.that's good to know there's a difference between the two. They're at 800.323.9766 and can sleuth what's going on and what's needed to fix it. So a call to our tech folks is a good idea. Thanks for the plug! And for jumping in to help out. Posts: 7792 | From: Potterville, MI | Registered: Dec 2001 Summa does have good tech support and I've been overall pretty happy with the Summa D750 (it has twin servo motors instead of the one the D60 had upon it's introduction). Good luck John, and please let us all know how your problem is resolved. I stated my dissappointment in the D-60 and was jumped for "dis-ing" a merchant - Although I felt that the signmaker trumped over patronizing a merchant.

I'd give Summa a call and ask them if they indeed had issues with your particular servo motor - and I would certainly ask that Summa rectify it if that is the case.as it was a known problem, and one they redesigned in later series of the Summa D60.īut again, that sounds like the exact problem that caused me to launch into a complaint/debate on a thread where someone asked what kind of plotter they should buy. I tried giving you a jingle on the phone.but you must have been out fishing. I hope Jim will pop in and correct/clarify what I am saying from my diminished memory of the issue.but it was something to that effect. The problem was that the early servo motors couldn't handle the *tug* oj the vinyl.when they felt the jerk on a small roll of vinyl they would error out and screw up the job in some cases. If I am not mistaken.Jim said the new D60's have dual servo motors or a beefed up servo that eliminated the problem. I believe Jim Doggett posted an acknowledgement in a thread within the last year or so here stating they had *problems* with the early D60's as you describe your issue. Summa really treated me well in this regard. I was given a decent deal on exchanging it for a new D750 at reduced rate. I then was put into contact with Jim Doggett - who I must say was a Class act, honest, and the best to deal with. I had Summa replace it with another one.and the same thing occurred. It was very frustrating because it was brand new, and occurred no matter if I had a small sheet running or a whimpy 10 yard roll. I initially purchased one and experienced exactly what you have indicated. I remember complaining about the D60 in detail a few years ago about this problem. Havent called tech support yet, thought someone might have an idea on here. There is no friction causing it to lockup, and I was not cutting a big roll of vinyl. Im cutting vinyl this morning, my d60 starts doing its thing, then the carriage goe to the left and the screen reads error in y axis. Tried the spacemouse on my mac and it works a treat. I have tried the temp folder delete, and tried installing again, many times.

I tried to find the drivers that were installed, but couldnt find them either.
#VINYLMASTER PRO STOPPED RESPONDING SOFTWARE#
I checked previous posts regarding this, but when I go to uninstall programs - there is no 3dConnexion software to uninstall !!
The laptop had restarted, and when i opened solidworks, the spacemouse had stopped working. Got up, made myself a nuclear coffee and proceeded to sit down and carry on with said assembly. I installed it last Saturday, and was overjoyed at the freedom that it allows within SolidWorks.ĭone a large scale assembly last night, saved all data, and left the laptop on til this morning. I recently bought a Spacemouse Pro to use on SolidWorks 2014 from ebay.
