Because he was not allowed to paint in his bedroom, he painted the scene from memory or possibly drawings and used his imagination for the small village that did not actually exist. Employing the expressive style he had developed during his stay in in 1886–88, he applied the paint directly from the tube onto the canvas, creating thick and intense hues. Ambivalent about working from his imagination, van Gogh eventually regarded the finished Starry Night as a failure, and Theo frankly indicated that the painting favoured style over substance.

Updater does not work. It cannot find the application.
On one computer the application was in a folder in the Applications folder. Nothing you do to tell the updater where the application is works. I moved Starry Night to the applications folder and it worked.
But on a MacBook Pro running 10.4.11 there is nothing that works to get the updater to work. It constantly gives the error message 'Application Not Found' even though you select it in the window. It is a 'stupid' updater in that it can't even see its own application.
